This morning I noticed that my external HD was not working. I checked in Disk Manager and saw that it had become a Raw. It's a 750 GB HD that has years of audio production and sounds I used for audio production, so I need the files and need them properly named since my DAW works with them using the file names. I am running textdisk now and it did not see any thing on its first check so I am currently running a Deeper Scan. I have been told that I may be able to recover and repair the whole HD with it. But if that does not work what can I do to make sure that I can recover my files and file names for the data on my HD. No to sound dramatic but my life's work is on here.

Just buy a new disk and recover the files from backup. You sure have a backup?

I transferred the files fro a smaller HD and I was saving up to buy a new HD to back them up. I do have another HD that I can save them to. It is 500 GB, but I still need the names of the files when I recover them, incase TestDisk does not work.

I did try to recuva and while it does see the HD as Drive letter N, but it tells me it is inaccessible. But then again I am running TestDisk atm. would that affect Recuva's ability to work?
