My new problem with making myself a new PC
I have everything good untill...
1) I start up my computer
2) I wait untill my OS loads (Linux Ubuntu in my case)
3) I select my username and enter the password
4) my computer shuts down
5) I repeat all of the above
6) after 7 times repeating, I have calculated that it's not my actions - it's the time- each time comp shuts down aproxymatly 2.5 min after the statrtup of the system.
7)I have f@&#ed up doing all that, went to my smartphone and posted the thread you are currently reading
8) I am waiting for your answers and help.

There are many factors for this..
1) PSU not having enough power
2) CPU Temps are too high "most likely if you have a i7"
3) bad RAM "BSOD if on windows"
and many more factors

The fact that it consistently shuts down after a couple of minutes indicates that overheating is a very likely cause.

Did you use new thermal grease when you fitted the heatsink? And have you monitored the CPU temperature whilst running?

PSU and RAM are also possible, but would not be expected to produce such consistent results.

By thermal greace you mean the thing the radiator and fan are glued to the north bridge? I don't know how old it is, but over 5 years for shure.
CPU temperature- my BIOS monitors the temperatures in CPU, power block, procesaors. None of them go higer then 47 degreese (celsium)
And here's some more information I got:
Today morning I decided to check my PC, and I discovered that the longer it is not working, the more time it can hold on. I had it left overnight, and at the morning it worked a bit longer - about 10 min!

Hi, do you have the specs of the machine?
What Ijack means is a compound you put on the CPU or on the cooler and it transfers the heat off the CPU into the heatsink.

Hey guys! I have finally found the problem! It also was the problem I had on my previous thread - the motherboard had some scratches on it so it didn't function properly! Alas, some $100 I had to spend to get a new one.
