Hey, No one never responded to the last topic. And after some research I wanted to make a new topic.

Case in a nutshell: New graphics card install, and the on-board audio is not working. Audio does work through my 32 two inch HD Tv, but doesn't work through speakers.

What I checked:
-Onboard sound working in BIOS (Check)
-Speakers the default audio system
-Drivers up to date, (installed and re-installed)

If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the specs of my RIG:
Customized Computer AMD Radeon 7790 Gigabyte AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.80GHz
Asus Motherboard(M5A97 R2.0) 8GB DDR3 RAM 128GB Solid State 1TB Toshiba Hard
Drive EVGA Bronze Edition 500W Power Supply

Your computer may have set the HDMI from your GPU as default audio. go to audio devices and change it back to standard speakers
Try the universal drivers from www.realtek.com.tw

What's at the very top of your audio device list?
Go into bios, look for HD audio and if it says Auto, set to Enable.

Go into Control Panel/Sound and make sure your desired Playback device is set as the default device. It sounds like your GPU's HDMI device is set as the default playback device in Windows now and not your on-board audio adapter (connected to your speakers).

I tried doing that already. The speakers are the default device.. I have that photo in response to the other person from above.

I think I am going to go ahead and do an RMA. It has been over 3 days and nothing is working. That is, if I can get it fixed by tomorrow.

Not the speakers, but the playback device (HDMI audio or Realtek, etc).

The bios settings look correct, so that's good.
What is at the very top of this image, there has to be more devices in that list.
If there is a speaker icon beside the one that was set as default, set the other one as default.

This shouldn't be that much of a hassle because I'm also using HDMI to my monitor and sound does come out from my monitor speakers.
But when setting the speaker as default playback device, like what you've done, it plays through the speakers.
Now it's a matter of trial and error, so try this.
Connect the HDMI cable from your computer to HDMI port #1 on your HDTV.
Set speaker as default audio device.
Play something, and do you have sound coming from the speakers?

Can you use any other cables besides HDMI?
Try HDMI 1.4 cable if you got it.

I tried this and it doesnt work. The graphics card only supports DVI and HDMI. So VGA is out of the question. I also do not have a HDMI 1.4 cable as well

I have come to the conclusion to just return the graphics card to my local microcenter. It is too much of a hassle to deal with, and I am extremely tired at the moment. Thanks again to all the support. You guys are great.

Does your tv have dvi?
If yes, just use that so it won't pick up the audio from your graphic card.
But if you still want to change it, then change it. Try another brand

No, it's VGA and HDMI again, thanks for the help. If the problem persists, I'll be sure to inbox you. Thanks again. :-)

I'm still leaning towards that HDMI 1.4 cable might be the answer to your problem. but I could be wrong.
