new mobo and cpu can i use old hard drive?

sooo i was thinking of just upgrading my motherboard and cpu from an i7-920 and an asus rampage gene II to an amd fx 8350 and an msi 970A would i still be able to use my old 1tb hard drive that has windows 7 and all my data or would i have to reformate it?

dont get an fx 8350. not worth it. get an i5 4670k instead

i only have 250$ for a mobo and a cpu soo for the price its the best i can get

gtx a fx-6300, a hyper 212+ or hyper 212 evo, then a slightly better motherboard. Overclocking the 6300 will get you better results in games than the 8350.

Yes, the right choise now is Intel, not AMD for CPU

and Yes, you still be able to use your old hard drive (windows 7 etc.) especially, if you get Intel CPU, you will have less upgrade installation problems!

You will have to install the drivers for the new motherboard (sata controlers driver, chipset driver, audio driver ...)
