This can depend on your system. sometimes a small partition at the start can be used to align a advanced format drive. Windows it self generally uses TWO partitions. one called System reserved(holds the boot loader) and another for Windows it self.
With off the shelf computers have even more chance of other partitions for things like system recovery and diagnostics.
If you can still boot into Windows maybe get a screen shot of your disk management to see what Windows shows(it is just more easy for most users.).
You have to be careful about removing partitions and moving them around the system(messing up can be fixed in most cases, but it is more easy to NOT mess it up to begin with). If you move the Windows partition sometimes the boot loader no longer points to the right place and the system will fail to boot.
