Will a better CPU help my computer speed?

With next gen coming out, my computer seems to be slower on games like battlefield 4 etc. it even slows my computer down when I exit the game, have to wait a few before it runs without slowdown. I get around 40 frames on high with a bit of ultra.
Thinking of getting an amd fx-8350 and some 4gb more ram, will it help?

Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
4gb Kingston hyperx ram
AMD Phenom II 1055t 2.8ghz
Sapphire AMD 7850 2gb

I'd wait. Buy a Cpu cooler, and overclock your Cpu. This will give you the best performance increase for the money spent, and later when you do upgrade, you can use the same cooler for that processor. DO buy another 4 gb's of Ram. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a good budget cooler that will do well for you, as is the Xigmatek Gaia.

The ram is all you really need if you're primarily playing games. Also a solid state would help. I'd invest in those before a cpu since yours is fairly solid and well matched for the rest of the system.

Hey one more question before i finally buy, the evo and contac are pretty big for my case theres probably like, an inch between the side panel and the heatsink if i did buy one of them. I've overclocked to 3.43ghz already and the temps are pretty good on stock cooler just very loud, around 40 on idle and 50 in game so do you think maybe just a slightly better cooler would do instead like the Cooler Master Hyper 103?
