So, I just installed the latest driver for my Realtek HD Audio, and it STILL acts like there's no audio device to output data to. I already posted another question about getting a Code 52, but I am honestly speechless as to what is going on here. Does anyone have any idea as to what's going on?

Thanks in advance!

check in the bios that the audio chipset is turned on. if it is try reinstalling the motherboard chipset then reboot. if the audio wont come on and you scanned for a virus. look to see what plugged into the mb and what turned on in the bios. it could be that one of the cards or hardware on the motherboard is using the same irq/memory range. if there a wifi card next to the video card pull it and see if the audio comes back. if the sound does not and you have just a gpu plugged in. in the bios try turning off the com and printer ports and third party sata ports to see if hardware issues.

I just spent a few weeks tinkering with this myself. I wasn't having the exact issue, as I could connect to sound via HDMI to the TV, but for the most part I was having issues with the standalone audio for my laptop,

My fix I used that worked for me: winkey+r devmgmt.msc run
Once there, I looked around at the audio settings, I found that the intel hd audio was showing and the realtek audio was not.
I uninstalled all audio drivers that were in the sound file, restarted and realtek was there and working just fine, it seemed that the intel sound driver was blocking realtek from working, which I did not know could happen. Hope this helps
