Here's whats happening : For about a month now my computer is just shutting off. No reboot, no error message, just off. As if someone were yanking the power cord from the wall.
It has no pattern at all. It does it while idle, gaming, in safe mode, everything.
It only happens between every 3 - 5 days or so. And after it happens, if I turn it back on immediately and resume whatever I was doing, its fine. (which tells me it isn't a heat issue otherwise it would keep happening)
I'm looking for any other ideas as to what I may be able to try to figure out exactly what is causing my pc to shut off so I can repair / replace whatever is causing it.
Here's what I've already tried :
Swapped PSU with a friend, same issue on my pc, his pc worked fine. (for the record, I have a Seasonic Gold 850w PSU and I'm only running a 7770 video card, its plenty)
Tested the RAM with memtest, also tried each stick individually. (didn't think it was RAM anyway since no blue screens)
Have started using temp monitoring and nothing is even remotely hot. And as I said, I can start it up immediately after it happens and resume whatever I'm doing with no issues for another few days. So not a heating issue.
I saw a thread where someone figured out it was a faulty power switch going from the case to the motherboard, so I've pulled my power / reset and led switches off the motherboard to see if it still shuts down.
