I have connected my WD 1Tb usb ext hdd to a panasonic DMR PWT520 PVR , it asked me to register the ext on the PVR , now I can't read it on either PVR or PC , grrrr , any one have an idea , I don't want to loose the files , recovery programme says they are on the ext but can't be read on the computer , the recovery programme with take the file to another drive but the laptop won't read anymore ext hdd's now even through device manager , grrrr , very annoiying

I would use a disc editor (eg DMDE freeware) to assess the damage. If you could start by showing us the contents of sector 0 (select Mode -> Hexadecimal), then this will tell us where to go next.
