Upgrade current build to R9-290X and FX-8350?

Hey all.

I built a budget gaming PC early last year, and now i'm ready for an upgrade. If I could, I would just build a complete new rig, but I don't have as much money as I would like, so i'm looking for the best bang for the buck upgrades for specific components (GPU, CPU, cooling). I currently have a 23" 1080p monitor, but will be adding two more 23" 1080p monitors for some (hopefully super sweet) triple monitor gaming. My goal will be to play all the latest game on very high settings at playable framerates (45-60 fps).

Current Build:
AMD X4 960T (Black Edition)
HIS ICEQ 6870 (1GB)
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 (2x4GB)
ASRock 970 Extreme4 Motherboard
Samsung 840 120GB SSD
Zalman Cooler

I'm going for a bit more than budget here, but I'd like to spend no more than $1000 (including the monitors, which i've priced at about $300 total, so that leaves about $700). I will be reusing any components that I don't replace, so i'm focusing on the GPU and CPU. I'd also like to stay with AMD so I don't have to replace my motherboard, which would add too much cost.

I've been looking at the R9 290X, but at $400, it's gonna eat majorly into my budget. But since my goal is a triple monitor setup, I figure I should put most of my budget into the GPU. And i'd probably go with the AMD FX-8350 CPU (unless you guys think my current 960T wouldn't bottleneck the 290X, but I doubt that), since it will be a good upgrade from my current CPU and it's only $200. I'll be overclocking that of course, so i'm looking at the Corsair Hydro H100i, which is about $120.

So, if you guys have any critiques or suggestions, let me know. I'm in the US and usually get my parts from Newegg or Amazon, and I can get to a Microcenter, but it's not that close. I'll probably do this in the next few months.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, do you think I could get away with one of the midrange FX processors, or should I stick with the 8350? I know that the GPU is more important than the CPU these days when it comes to gaming, so any money I save there would go to a higher end GPU.
