Hey guys,

I just got myself a new Gigabyte 7870 OC about a week ago and so far it's been a great card.. besides this weird HDMI audio out problem.

I'm running Windows 7 64-Bit and when I right click on my sound icon in the taskbar and click playback devices, it takes at least 2 minutes to even open. When it does, this is what pops up:

So far I've tried removing the drivers, updating the drivers / trying the new beta drivers, disabling the onboard audio, unplugging the cable, resetting my TV, playing with the Catalyst settings, but so far no dice.

Can somebody tell me what's going on here?

Nah that wouldn't be it, I've been using this cable perfectly fine with my old card.

Here's an update:

I decided to actually re-enable the onboard audio and now the sound settings pop up instantly again. The first digital display audio output is also now detecting my TV, but.. this still doesn't solve the whole displaying 6 HDMI audio outs for the card when it only has one thing.

My motherboard is an ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3, and in the BIOS the onboard audio setting is called something like "HD Audio Azalia", but I know it's a Realtek 892.

Yeah I did a bunch of updates to Windows around the same time I got the new card so that could have something to do with it.

I'm more or less just worried the card could be faulty, or the mobo slot since I moved the card to the other (current) slot after a few days (although I'm pretty sure the problem existed when it was in the old slot too).

Interestingly enough, I went and disabled the onboard audio again and the sound settings still open up instantly.
