Limit wireless router connection without limiting ethernet connection.

Hi, I would like to limit the wireless connection or the bandwidth received by wireless devices used by others who are using the router.
The router is a Netgear WGR614V9.
I have my computer connected with an ethernet cable and I DO NOT want this limited.
What is the best/cheapest way to go about this. If I get a new router that lets me throttle, will that affect my ethernet connection?
Not sure if i want to limit the wireless connection or the bandwidth.
I have researched some about dd-wrt but this seems confusing and I think I would still need to get a different router.
Any suggestions on ways to go about this or a good affordable router that will work is greatly appreciated.

the easiest way to limit wireless that works on every router is to set wireless connection speed to certain speed 1mbps for example
this will leave Ethernet full speed but wireless connection will be slowed and not take over bandwidth.

otherwise you need good router that has that function and it might be expensive, you have $$ in mind you want to spend?

Ahh that sounds good. I would rather not spend $$.
My ethernet cable is plugged into the router. So that will not affect the speed of my computer?
Any tips on how to set the speed. Should I access the router with my computer? I know how to access the router but not sure how to set the speed once I'm in there.

You are going to have to buy a different router. Either get one that has the ability to hard limit both in and out bandwidth or get something you can load dd-wrt on.
Not sure if you can actually limit by the interface that is being used..ie wireless or wired. You can limit them by IP address though. You could limit everyone except your IP which would do what you want.
