hi all i have just installed an ssd and i now want to set up the back up feature. i had it running before i changed to the ssd but now windows back up is missing. when i go to control panel click on back up restore the window opens but it's blank all i can press is to go back to control panel. i really don't want to have to do a re install of windows.

Maybe I didn't quite understand : where exactly did you set your back up ? On your previous H/SDD, on your new one or on a USB stick ? Just asking, if you created it on your new SDD then do you have a recovery partition on your hard drive or someting ?
Thanks for bringing a little more details and good luck !

hi thanks for replying i had the back up set to my external hard drive before. i know its a bad idea to have a back up on the ssd its self but its ok to back up to another drive. i have got it working now by going trough the command console.

So I guess your problem's solved ?
Still, a piece of advice : for any future problem you will probably encounter, you'd do best by burning your recovery on a dvd or set it on a permanent usb stick.
Anyhow if it is so, glad you managed to sort yourself out !

yeah its sort of sorted however now that it has created a system image disk i don't have enough space for the back up. even if i move the image file to another drive or delete it windows back up just creates another one.
