hello everyone i am having a certain issue that a lot of people here have had. ive got a tforce 6100 am2 board amd athlon 64x2 3800 cant remeber the ghz exactly 2.4 i think but recently it started to freez up screen hard drive you name it. would have t manually restart then it would last a while then freeze againehave to run start up repaire it would fix it for a while then to no supprise freeze up.

then it got to the point where it would freez in bios safemode and even freeze in start up repaire

so at first i thought maby my psu is going bad after a couple years its a rycon atx 550w it had been making the usual fan slowing down noise's

my lights running very dim so i bought a new chief max atx 550 brand new for cheap but that only fixed the issue with the fan an lighting. so my next guess maby there is an issue with my graphics card turns out nothing wrong with it so either my memory is bad or something on my board is bad i bought the board used came with the processor but i bought the memory new ddr2 800 pci 6400 dual channel 4 one gig each ive had the board and memory for over a year. ima not sure who makes these memory chips the only thing written on them is DDR2 800 1GB DC FDMHGO-06024L. So i tested each chip rebooted with one chip in one slot same problem

or it would not boot at all so either all 4 memory chips are bad or or something on the board. my resources are very limited unemployed so cant afford to take to somebody. so i had to pull it all out and go back with my single core board a ddr1 memory at least i still got a computer for the time being.

Solution
Try booting into BIOS and see if you can make changes to the voltages - if not, try with a different stick if still can't then prob want to try with a different PSU - still no joy, pull the CPU - check for bent pins and/or debris int he socket - if none apply new thermal compound and reinstall the cooler and try

well with one stick in it freezes about 7 to 10 seconds after getting into bios 2 sticks about the same amount of time with 4 sticks im lucky if it runs for 20 seconds.

you would have to explaine to me how to do what it is you are suggesting. cause it does not give me much time to do anything with it before it slaps me in the face with the freezing for a lack of a better term.

im not an expert with computers.
