I installed windows 8 on my SSD but then decided to move back to windows 7.

I formated my disk before installation with default system. After installation I found that 40gb is used but the system files are just 14 Gb.

How can I clean disk space?

Thank you in advance.

The lost space is due to the swap file, the hibernation file, and restore points, as well as maybe some temp files. If you can live without hibernation and want to get rid of the file you cannot just turn it off in the power settings, you need to open an elevated command prompt and type: powercfg.exe -h off

Restore points are not usually very useful and I don't use them, but if you want to keep them you can limit the space that they occupy. Just open the system control panel, advanced system settings, system protection tab and the configure button to change the space allocated to restore points.

You might also want to download and run the free version of Glary Utilities, an excellent clean up program.
