Alrighty, I'm sortof hoping someone knowledgeable and nice enough to give me a long decent reply is gunna stroll over and click my question....

I'm interested in a computer that can handle photoshop editing and some ( Not a huge amount ) of video editing/rendering *Sony vegas

My current computer that is around 6 years old can render a 1 minute video with a fair bit of transitions and effects in about an hour and a half to two hours. <-- Yeah brutal.

So basically my budget is around 1500, I just want something for smooth non frustrating editing. I don't know weather to go with AMD or Intel, I really don't mind whichever, although AMD is cheaper and I've heard good things?

I just havent a clue where to get started, what would be the best cpu and all that stuff, I really am very overwhelmed and a little impatient with the idea of building my own PC.

I guess I was looking for someone whos willing to help me out,

: )

****Oh and I have read quite a few other forums and been doing some research on where to get started but it seems to be more trolls than anything, stating that so and so shouldnt even be building a PC to begin with.
Gotta start somewhere...
AH HELP,

Went Amd because the 8 core Cpu's do very well for video editing. Not quite as fast as an Intel I7, but no where near the cost either. 16gb's of ddr3 1866, two 1TB WD Black HDD's for raid 0 goodness. Also have a 250gb SSD to help decrease time spent at the pc as much as possible.

One area where I'm not too sure is the video card. This one isn't a slouch at all, but I don't know if there would be a better one for that type of work, or if you could save money and it wouldn't impact rendering speed. Overall though, it's under budget.
