I would update the BIOS first. Here is where to get it and instructions on what to do.

I would be thinking of 4GB of RAM but I guess 2GB's is better then .5

Ive got another problem i need to fix i tried dual booting from xp to vista with a partition i deleted xp partition and restarted now it wont boot, i made a copy of vista but i didnt make it bootable to repair from, it showed boot failure insert disk and then showed ntldr is missing and verifying dmi..... I have a win 6 repair disk that was for my laptop and i tried repairing with that using cmd by typing bootrec/ fixboot and fixmbr and worked but juat shows veryfiying (i cant remember what it says) so i dunno wjat to do and i checked on on youtube and it shows c:windows but mine shows x:windows/system 32

So you need to reinstall Vista and you dont have the disk? It may just be time to upgrade to a newer OS.

i think they tried and it still showed "verifying dmi pool data..........." so it could be bios corrupted so he is going to update the bios which might fix the problem.:??:
