Can I use SO-DIMM for building a gaming desktop?

I've been slowly saving and buying the components necessary for my first build over the past few months. I just bought my GTX 760 SC ACX yesterday and now I'm getting super excited to put everything together! FYI, my CPU is going to be a FX-6300 or an FX-8350.

My question is, if I have some SO-DIMM laptop memory lying around (I have 2x4gb stock Mac memory and 2x8gb corsair vengeance memory available), is there anyway I can use that to my advantage and save some money? I really want to find a fully capable mobo with the AM3+ socket, plenty of USB inputs, and even the ability to run SLI if possible (I know that's a stretch). I don't buying a mini ATX mobo, I would just need some direction with buying a properly ventilated case that could fit my 11 inch video card and a Hyper evo 101i cooler as well as be optimized for the smaller mobo.

I see no reason not to try to use this perfectly capable 1600mhz RAM! Thanks in advance!

No you can't use it. It's a different size than desktop DIMMs. You can always sell it and use the money for the new build.
