How can I improve this server/workstation build?

I need to build a server/workstation to make use of VoIP phones, as well as running some other intense tasks. This is a build that I currently have, but I am open to change:

Approximate Purchase Date: (November - January 2014)

Budget Range: ($1300 - $1700)

Parts Not Required: (Speakers)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (Newegg, Microcenter)

Country: (America)

Parts Preferences: (Intel Xeon CPU, NZXT Full Tower Case, ASRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, or MSI motherboard)

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: (1920x1080)

OS: I will not be running Windows 8.1, the server will be using Windows Server 2012, but I included 8.1 to simulate the cost of Windows Server.

Ethernet: The wired network adapter is required for the VoIP phones to plug into, and is one of the key components for this server.

I am aware that I did not give a description for all of the components, but the ones I listed are the more important ones. I wanted to make sure that all of the components are compatible with each other. Help is greatly appreciated.
