sorry if this is a silly question

i've just bought a 16gb(2x8) 1866Mhz HyperX Beast and i realized that my mobo (ASRock X79 Extreme4) only supports 2400+(OC)/1600/1333/1066/800 ram speeds

so the question is, is it safe for me to use the ram on this mobo?
if so can i get it running at 1866mhz using xmp?

Solution
your ram will be fine. the old boxes were never updated. as the box support ram faster then 2400 you be fine using the xmp profile. just check to see how old your bios file is on the mb. the older the file the older the cpu and ram code in the bios.
