I bought an HP computer with windows 7 installed and don't like W7 at all. I've saved all my computer information (music, movies, videos, documents, software EXEs. etc) to an exterior hard-drive and want to do clean install with WXP Professional disc from my old computer. Is this possible and are there still XP drivers available in this computer universe, to support an XP install?

Solution
You will need to check with HP support to determine if there are drivers available.

I would recommend changing all the settings to make W7 work just like XP, there is very little in 7 that cannot be changed to look just like you are running XP, while still having the advantage of a more stable OS that will continue to be supported, unlike XP.

Not for much longer. Not to mention W7 is significantly safer than XP. I still use XP on my oldest single core computer and it works fine, but overall, I can't see that much real world difference in the OS's to want to go back. I would consult HP before you do this, it could end up a very frustrating experience! HP may have to provide some of the drivers anyway, since you probably have a Asus, DFI or other major manufacturer's derivative MB and some of the drivers may be custom from HP. Your chore is to find every driver you will need ahead of time. If you can pre-download every driver and store them on your other drive, then you could attempt it!
