As a continue to this old thread:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/355066-28-upgrading

Nowdays wanting to upgrade to an intel system.
After long search for components good and available in my country I go to this build:

New Items I will buy:

Proccessor - Core I5 3570K

MB - GA-Z77-D3H

Case - Fractal Design Define XL R2 Black Pearl

PSU - SeaSonic 850W Bronze Series Active PFC 12cm Fan Modular PSU

Components I migrate from old system:

ATI 6770HD Sapphire 1GB

Samsung SSD 840 256GB

WDC WD16

SAMSUNG HD103SJ

Kingston 8GB (4X2GB) 1333 DDR3

DVDRW LG SATA

Other compnents not mentioned above:

Proccessor - AMD X4 630

PSU - Enermax 350/400W Dont remember exactly.

MB - GA-MA785GMT-UD2H

Case - Antec sonata 3 (Too small...)

1 - The PSU is defenetly is overkill, so I need some models that will hold my new system with no problems with an upgrade option in the future.

2 - In the new system what component might be a bottleneck?

3- Any other advice on the system I want to build?

Thank you'

Natan

PSU: Seasonic M12ii 620. It has lots of room for upgrading, it is also really silent and performs really well.
Graphics: r9 280x, great for gaming, no problem with the PSU
Everything else looks fine for me.

Gpu - r9 280X Is defenetly out of my budget.
Psu - Il take the seasonic
Budget - Its unlimited, but with a sane mind. The r9 280x is something that I didnt calculated and its in my opinion too expensive.

Is there any other Mid-High range Gpu you can advice?

Thank you for your fast reply.

Summing it up:

PSU - Seasonic
GPU - 7850:
Lots of variations:
Going for the: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB GDDR5 DX11 2xDVI HDMI DP PCI-E

And finally:

All this new system:

Proccessor - Core I5 3570K

MB - GA-Z77-D3H

Case - Fractal Design Define XL R2 Black Pearl

Samsung SSD 840 256GB

WDC WD16

SAMSUNG HD103SJ

Kingston 8GB (4X2GB) 1333 DDR3

DVDRW LG SATA

Seasonic M12ii 620

Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB GDDR5 DX11 2xDVI HDMI DP PCI-E

Great build, also it is futureproof and not very noisy. And yes, upgrading wont be a problem even if you crossfire (dont recommend it for noise, cooling and even performance some times),

About the haswell chip:
As I looked up it is about 10% more power overall, and the Z87 chipset is about 5-10% more features. So I think its not worth the cash.
Also OC opinion on the haswell is EEE, better the one I took. more potential. altough the MB is not for OC.

This case specificly got a 5 Rating on our Computer site in Israel, thats pretty much the only reason I took it:
http://hwzone.co.il/hardware/reviews/psu/Fractal_Define_XL_R2_Review/5

The bad:
Expensive compared to other Mid-Tower cases, but justify.
Heavy - 16.4Kg
Have only one fan Controller (never used those)

So its a solid winner.

Also I work now with an Antec sonata 3 and its damn small, so judging by the pictures I have plenty of room to modify It.
Also:
140MM fans - I have a refrigirator in my room
Dust filters - our country Is damn dusty
Anti vibrate HDD - Quiet is the name of the game
Cable arange holes - I dont have those in my Antec so it looks like a disaster
And openable back door - also dont have in the antec. very frustrating
About countless options for fans - About 8 or seven. miscounted in the middle of the video:

You cant say its a bad choise. Even a great one Il say. IT HAVE EVERYTHING!

And again Awesome Thunderbolt answers.

Quick forum question. Do I have to sellect only 1 answer as a solution?

You cant go wrong with that system, also PM me if you want to silence your system. And yes, as far as I know you cand only choose one best answer

Haswell is only a bit faster, but it allows for better upgrade-ability in the future. Intel's next gen processor will also be based on the same socket as Haswell, LGA 1150. In the coming times, Intel will start to discontinue Ivy Bridge processors and there will be no more socket LGA 1155 for sale, which means it will be hard to upgrade as you will have to buy a 2nd hand 1155 processor from ebay or something. Since you want it to be easily upgrade-able, LGA 1150 is the way to go.

Nothing wrong with the Fractal Design Define XL R2. But you don't need a full tower. The Define XL R2 is the same thing as the Fractal Design Define R4 but the Define R4 is a mid-tower while the XL is a full tower. A mid tower would be perfectly fine to hold your component and cheaper too.

The Define R4 has plenty of dust filters all around the case, like the XL.
It has sound-dampening foam on the inside to reduce noise vibrations and make it quieter, like the XL.
It has cable management holes and an open-able back book, like the XL and almost every other modern case.
It has a fan controller, like the XL.
It comes with 2x 140mm fans, which should provide sufficient airflow for your components.
It has room for an extra 2 fans on the top, one on the bottom, and one on the side if you want to add more fans.

So the Define R4 is just a smaller, cheaper version of the XL. Though the size of it is still big enough to work with.

Take the Define R4, it is my favourite case under 100 (besides the Phantom 410). For cooling go for the Phantom, For sound go for the r4, but I think the Phantom has better acoustic efficiency

Not true about the socket.
Seems like they will use a 2011 socket or even something new like they always do...

Noted about the case.
Googling.......................................
Altough it does seem there is no special difference between them I will go for the full tower one for future upgrades and addons without thinking about space issues. At all! :)

Again Thank you for all your help. Unfortunatly I cant choose 2 answers altough I would like 2. You both were very helpful in mine quest to upgrade my system.

Cheers :)

No. It's going to be using Socket LGA 1150. It's the same as Sandy and Ivy Bridge. They both used Socket LGA 1155. Then they turned to Haswell with the socket LGA 1150 and next gen Broadwell will use the same. Socket LGA 2011 is already out. It's the more expensive socket, the Extreme series processor (Ivy Bridge-E and Sandy Bridge-E).

Guess I misread.

Just googled your option about the 4670 +z87 MB. Its pretty much the same price as the one I wanted to take.
And if its true the future is in 1150 I will galdly take it.

One little problem. the mother board you suggested doesnt seem to be sold in my country. I will post a list of z87 mB's:

http://www.zap.co.il/models.aspx?sog=c-motherboard&keyword=z87&orderby=price

The price is in ILS, devide by 3 to get dollars +-

Sry found it:

http://www.zap.co.il/model.aspx?modelid=849553

The Mb is a bit expensive. but for future upgrades I guess its good invesment

The AMD is good for multi core work.
But per core power Intel is better

And the daily work is per core work. so eventually intel is faster in the daily activities.

But I might be wrong and just rushed for an intel build :/ :)
