Hello there,
my name is Tom, and I'm a very very VERY big computer noob. I have basically a tiny bit more knowledge on things as opposed to the everyday person, but don't understand any technical and 'advanced' computer talk.
Anyways, I've got a couple of questions that I'd love if anyone could answer as I need advice on what I should and can buy.
I am interested in purchasing either this card here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121671
Or this one here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130951
Now I know that the GTX 780 is a far better card, and is capable of running almost anything at ultra settings, but there are a couple of things that come into play for me. My setup is rather mediocre, and I'm not sure if I'm able to run either of the cards based on my PSU, Mother Board, Processor, etc. These are my specs below:
CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i5-2500K 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA1155
HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
RAM: 8GB (2GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Kingston HyperX)
MOTHERBOARD: * [CrossFireX] Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard
LucidLogix Virtu and Intel Smart Response Technology & 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN,
USB3.0, 2x SATA-III RAID,2 3 PCIe Gen2, 2 PCIe X1 & 2 3CI (All Venom OC
Certified)
POWERSUPPLY: 700 Watts - Standard Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
So a couple of questions. Are either of these cards compatible with my mother board, and if so, can either of them run on my computer without me having any issues? I'm not sure if my PSU is enough, so i'd love some help from you guys!
Last question: I know the GTX 780 is fantastic, but would the 7970 be able to run next gen games such as BF4, Crysis 3, and etc on Ultra without any problems? Because I have enough money for the 780, but I'd rather not spend $200 more on that, if the 7970 will do me good without any issues. Thanks again, any help would be MUCH appreciated!
