Hi i just built a computer mostly for gaming. in the future i hope to overclock it to 4.2( complete noob but will read up). im a little worried my cup on idle (hwmonitor) is anywhere between 27-30 but when i started playing etw maxed just to test, the cpu temp after a few mins got up to 45 degrees. is that normal, i first checked and it was about 38 degrees after 10-15 mins it was at 45 degrees. is that normal on a non overclolcked cpu? i will perform the 7 hour stress test tomorrow.
also for if i oc to 4.2 what are considered nomal temp?

im also worried because i had a cpu fan error, apperently the fan was running below 600 rpm. i changed the bios setting to error if its lower than 500. is that normal speed for cpu fan ( its 560) ? its is a be quite rock advanced c1. i read it is normal for it to go below 600 is that true?

my specs are

i5 4670k
asus z87 pro mobo
8 gb corsair ram
msi gtx 760 twin frozer
1tb western digital hdd

cool master stormenforcer case

also BeQuite rock advanced c1 cpu cooler.

Solution
The maximum temperature for the i5-4670K is 72.27 degrees Celcius, so 45 is excellent.
Looks like your CPU cooler is going to give you great thermal control for some good overclocking.
I only hope that your particular Haswell chip is inclined to co-operate :)
