My 3tb Sabrent external hard drive, shows up on my comp as a disk drive. although the icon displays it as a exernal hard drive. I used to have a good 2 tb full of info on it but its all gone, when i look at how much space it has, it says nothing is in it, all the numbers are at "0" When attempting to format it, i get a promt that says there is no disk in drive G: please insert a disk and try again. Can someone help me format my device please? I guess the name of my device as it shows on my comp is: ASMT 2105 USB DEVICE

I do not mind losing the data anymore, I would just like to format my external, but my comp is not allowing me, haha =( when i went to disk manager it says my device is DISK 1/Type: removable disk (G:)/Status: No media/PArtition Style: Master Boot Record(MBR)/Capacity 0 MB/Unallocated Space: 0 MB/ Reserved space: 0 MB. THen it lists below VOLUMES: sub catergory Volume(its blank) and Capacity(also blank).

I attempted your sites approach, but the only thing that shows up once i right click my device is "change drive letter and paths.../ Eject/ properties/help" there is no convert to GPT disk unfortunately as stated by your cite. thank you though. ALso, i noticed in the pic from the cite it tells you how much storage space is in the device, its strange but on my comp, those spaces where it is supposed to give you the amount of space it has is actually empty, the only thing it says is "DISK 1: Removable G: NO MEDIA" I am not sure what that means for me =(
