Hey I am having a severe problem with my computer. First games were freezing a lot. And not just the game freezing my whole PC froze entirely forcing my to unplug the whole thing. I took my PC to my computer guy to see whats wrong and he said there was nothing wrong with the memory or the CPU.

So a couple months later my computer was doing it again. But this time it was specifically with GMOD when I tried to use the kinect sensor. This time I tried both updating my drivers and resetting my BIOS by taking out the battery and putting it back in.

Now when I try to turn on my computer it goes to the "starting windows" screen and about a third of the way it freezes entirely and my computer reboots saying windows encountered a problem and to launch startup repair. I know that when I first built my PC my GPU didn't work at all because my BIOS required an update but back then nothing displayed on the screen at all. So I tried disabling my main GPU and using my integrated one. The same thing happened but this time before booting a BSOD flashed on the screen for a millisecond before going black and rebooting.

I tried launching startup repair but it says says it cannot repair the computer automatically and it came up with this:

Problem signature
Problem event name: startup repair
Problem event signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem event signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem event signature 03: unknown
Problem event signature 04: 21200242
Problem event signature 05: AutoFailover
Problem event signature 06: 4
Problem event signature 07: BadDriver
OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Local ID: 1033

I tried this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/corrupt-file-at-startup-can-not-start-up-win-7/b7129bd4-abf5-44e8-b136-9d9bb9a22c60 but I don't get the same results. Also I tried System restore and that didn't work either. I tried Safe Mode as well and the same thing happens. I don't want to wipe my Hard Drive because I have important work on it for school. Can someone please help?

Try this.

Restart the machine, wait until it is about halfway through the startup process then press and hold down the power button until the system shuts down.

Restart the machine and choose 'Repair my computer'.

Cancel the operation as soon as it start and after a couple more screens, you will arrive at a page where you can choose to 'Restore' computer.

Any help?
