My setup includes a windows 8 64 bit installation on a MSI Z87-G45 mobo. Approximately an hour ago, I attempted to update and install my bios from v 1.3 to v 1.5 using MSI's Live Update utility. During the installation process, Windows BSOD'd, and now my computer will not post. I attempted to clear CMOS by removing the battery for a minute, but to no avail.

Any other suggestions before I scream at MSI at the top of my lungs? I am not looking forward to redoing my watercooling setup because of their bad software. Or waiting eons to get my primary means of entertainment up and running again.

They give instructions to apply the jumper to the mobo, but they don't say where the jumper is. Any way I can Macguyver it?

I might demand a refund and order a new mobo from a dif manufacturer.

Look on the mobo and there should be a jumper somewhere you can pull and use to short the pins or if another computer available pull it's CMOS rest jumper (with the system off and unplugged - either way make sure you mark where you got the jumper from and the correct orientation - Think I'd follow your thoughts and get a different mobo - something like an Asus Z87-Plus or maybe a Gryphon

So MSI wants at minimum 15 days for my RMA to be processed and returned to me. I think that mobo is the last MSI product I ever purchase. I've ordered an ASRock mobo as a replacement (liked it over the Asus because of nearly identical specs + an LED debug indicator). I'll sell the MSI board when it comes back. Time to badmouth MSI anytime computer components comes up in conversation.
