I was planning on building a new gaming pc and I used the pcpartpicker website, was wondering if other parts would work better or cheaper for the same performance, budget is about 1000.

If you count games packed with the Product as a discount then the GTX 770 has -$180 coupon because of the new games attached by Nvidia.
That is a nice build could you please put the parts into a list like this:

I would not recommend Wifi as it tends to have poor connection that is needed in gaming.
Otherwise it is a good build. If you want to have a bit more power go for $20 more and get an i5-4670.
 


This uses a low end motherboard and OP never said he needed a mini-itx build.

The RAM is cheap and slow and single channel so that is a no-go.

The PSu is not great. The Corsair CX line is not the best. Change it for an XFX550.
