My graphics card has a weird fan problem. It sounds exactly like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwdFrf0ZUIc

I would like to know if anyone out there knows how to fix it? It is very annoying!

I have the same video card. It's called coil whine and it happens to me around 55-65% fan speed. There's no way to fix it (other than watercooling) and just about any video card will have coil whine.

What is coil whine exactly? My brother has the same card and it does not make that noise and it is making me mad.

Coil whine is when the fans are affected by electromagnetic resonance which causes them to whine. It's rather difficult to explain, but it is directly related to fan speed and GPU voltage. You could try RMA'ing the card, but there is a good chance the new one would be exactly the same. That your brother is able to use his without coil whine either makes him extremely lucky, or perhaps his fan profiles aren't setup correctly.

Take a look at this. Keep in mind that the loud roaring is caused by other fans in a machine.

I dont think it is coil whine. when i was running planetside 2 and it started I reached in my case and lifted the card just a tad bit and the sound stopped so I am certain that it is a fan.

It's caused by the high frequency of the fans and the magnetic fields caused by the capacitors. The voltages can further irritate the problem as they will fluctuate back and forth when under stress.
