Okay, so when I purchased my PC a while back I really didn't understand quite a few of the features of the components and still don't! So I've been trying to slowly learn what I should be taking advantage of.

I'm running an EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 now and was also reviewing my MOBO which is a Z68X-UD3H-B3.

One of the features I saw was the switchable graphics using the software. Is this worth looking into for someone who runs their PC close to 24/7? I'm not sure if it would be helping save some lifespan on my 770. I'm not really concerned about power consumption so much though.

Thanks!

dont install the software unless you want reformat your hard drive. the software that out there on the cd is very buggy. the newer paid software is better but it still can crash your rig or games. in real world if you do get it working in a game it does help you get higher frame rates. in real world i have it on my asus sabertooth and i turned that chipset off. just run on the main gpu.

Wait, I feel like your implying I want to use the feature to use the 770 and onboard at once? I just want to be able to switch between them when I'm not gaming for example. Unless that's what you mean of course.

Ah okay I see more on the website. So if it did work according to the power optimization page it would take some stress off my GPU, but I'm assuming it wouldn't really do much to increase the lifespan in the end.
