I currently have an old Gigabyte 9800 GTX+ graphics card (GV-N98TZL-512H) card in my desktop system on a EP45-DS3P S Series Gigabyte Motherboard powered by a Coolermaster RS-500-PCAR-A3 power supply.

I am about to upgrade the video card to a Nvidia 650ti boost, will I simply be able to unplug and remove the 9800GTX+ and replace it directly with this new card?

And if so, will I need a second PCI e, 6-pin connector as my power supply only has one. If I do, how do I connect it?

Solution

1)Yes,if you don't have the latest drivers get them.
2) it should only require one pcie connector.

It's not a very good example of a psu but it will do.It btw has 2 x +12voltrails with 18amps on them.
