laptop dont use the same video cards as a desktop. some laptops have the video card soilder onto the mb and cant be changed. if your has a removable gpu it show up on the upgrade guild and there be a door on the bottom of the unit to do it.

What if I purchase a new motherboard with a better video card on it. Would that work or would it be to costly?

Laptop's do not have upgradable motherboards like Desktops do. The only way to do that would be to buy a better laptop no real way around it. There are only a handful of Laptops that even have upgradable GPU's and yours is not one of them. Out of those they run upwards to $3000 or more.

As far as a new Motherboard it would have to be made just for your case or it will not fit/work.

Although not the best video card in a laptop, the 745M is at least much better than many.

Try lowering the settings in the game to get higher frame rates. You won't get to 40 unless you play on lowest settings, but may be able to hit 30 with some tweaking.
