Been reading tom's hardware for few years now, this time couldn't find a convincing answer.

I am looking for a top end 27" gaming monitor, my budget is up to US $1200. Main use: FPS gaming such as BF3 and BF4.

Current setup:
CPU: i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Memory: 16G
Motherboard: Gigabyte Sniper 3
Graphics card: Asus 780 ti

Current display: Samsung 23A950D, considering to get Samsung 27" display. Or pls help me recommend if there's anything more worth it.

There's no such thing as a monitor optimized for just FPS, but there are gaming monitors, some of which have 120Hz+ refresh rates, and usually very high resolutions. There really isn't a best monitor, but Samsung always makes great monitors for gaming.

Are you sure you want to go larger than your monitor now? I find that monitors over 22-24 inches take up too much of your view to be comfortable to use at normal sitting distance.

Keep your monitor, donate $600 to a charity and buy some nice wine with the other $600 :)

Check out the BenQ XL2720T for FPS games or if you want to go smaller, the XL2420TE. Asus also offers a 144hz monitor that is comparable. What you want to also look for is low response around 2ms.
