Interesting problem I've never had

So I recently "upgraded" from Windows 8 pro to Windows 8.1 pro. Ever since the update, when I try to put my computer to sleep, it restarts instead. I'm somewhat tech savvy, but I have never heard of this problem before. Its not usually an instant restart either, sometimes it takes a couple minutes before it does it. The time it takes from "sleep" to restart seems completely random at times. I just want to be able to put my PC to sleep without it restarting. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you do a compatibility check for w8.1? Maybe something like an app isn't really compatibel and keeps things from going like they should be.

it's an upgrade assistant.You download it and let it take a look to see if anything isn't compatibel.It starts of in dutch here,but maybe in your pc it will just do it in english

Try this:
1.- Open Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Power Options
2.- From the left menu, click on “Choose what the power buttons do”
Play with the options.
