Title says it all,
I am aware I need new mobo for i5.
my current specs,
i3-530
gtx 650
5gb ram
720p
they said my CPU's will bottleneck every upgrade I'll do, is it true?
i5 or 660? which will give me more FPS?

More about : 3570 gtx 660

You really should upgrade your motherboard and cpu. Your motherboard is the "foundation' in which to build on. Upgrade that first. The GTX 650 can handle 720p pretty decently.

You have a plain 650? If given those two choices then, the upgrade to a 660 will give you the most noticeable performance increase in most games.

Right, that is what I meant. Anyways, get the GPU you'll notice better improvement that way. Obviously, you have dated hardware so you're not going to get great performance no matter what you do but that will run better (and cost you less) for pure gaming. The so called CPU bottlenecking the GPU is WAYYYYY overspoken of here.

Incidentally, for your specific processor, read this (from this very website):

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i3-gaming,2588...

If you don't feel like reading, they basically took your processor and put it up against an i7 870 (and a bunch of other CPUs), a CPU not that far behind the 3770, but with the same GPUs and they all performed almost exactly the same.

Edited to add the conclusion from the article:

"While we’ve often seen so-called CPU bottlenecks impeding the performance of our multi-GPU systems, today’s highest-quality gaming test has proven that when it comes to single-GPU systems, even a high-performance card like the Radeon HD 5850 can’t outstrip the capabilities of a modern low-cost CPU....To push the need for a better processor, it is necessary to go beyond the capabilities of a single GPU and into the realm of CrossFire or SLI. When cost is of the utmost concern, this isn't particularly likely. So, our tests prove that a low-cost CPU will do the job just as well as a high-priced part."

He has a 3 year old CPU. Obviously the article is 3 years old who would write about it now. I'll tell you what I'm going to do though. I'm going to take my old Q6600 and put a gtx760 in it, and benchmark it. I'll then put the 760 in my 4770k and report the results.

Today's games are much different than 3 years ago. Just because an i3 was good enough in 2010 doesn't mean it will be good enough in 2014.

The point isn't whether or not it is good enough. The point is which improvement will help him the most. Anyways, here are the results:
BF3, high, 1080

Q6600 + GTX 650 ti: 18 fps
Q6600 + GTX 760: 49 fps
4770K + 650 ti: 36 fps
4770K + GTX 760: 74 fps

Obviously, in an ideal world here he would upgrade both things. And also obviously, this is just one test, with not identical hardware to what he has. But I think it shows that even a massive improvement to the CPU does less for me than a fairly minor imrovement to the GPU. Which in his case not only is better, but costs less. Incidentally, just for the heck of it I put my 780 classified in the q6600 and got 91 fps (it gets 122 in my 4770k),
