Ok I have 3 wifi adapters. All 3 are usb adapters.
One old netgear b/g that is not made for win8, which installs but cannot see not one network in windows8.

Second is a "Belkin N150 Wireless USB Adapter" Im not at home, but this looks just like mine. Then its brand new from walmart and has windows8 supported drivers. Same issue cannot see not one network in windows8.

Third is a "Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB" that has windows8 driver support. Same issue cannot see not one network in windows8.

Same issue on 2 totally different computers running win8 64-bit. If I put any of these into my vista32bit system and they all work and pick up the wifi signal. If I use my phone or any other device like my IP camera, I can connect and see my network. Along with any of my neighbors connections.

But with my 2 win8-64bit computers. I cannot even see 1 connection to connect to. Only running spybot/zonealarm for security. No anti-virus or other measures. Ive turned both completely off. I've also tried to install third party wifi software. Those programs you use instead of connection thru windows, which did not work.

Any ideas why this is not working? One my win8 computers is built by me. The other is a HP vendor PC. If I hardline, then both will connect. Every install of the drivers goes smooth and no noticeable problems. Except it will not auto install like it does with vista, I must have the driver downloaded myself.

Thanks for any suggestions.

try updating your USB port drivers then try reinstalling the drivers for the wifi adapter.
I hear of many issues on wifi adapters not working properly on windows 8 in general.
windows 8 sucks! MY OPINION ONLY!
