Hi, I'm looking to buy a new gaming rig, and I was wondering if the GTX 760 would be a good choice of a graphics card. I was thinking of getting a quad-core i5, and a psu and mobo that would be able to handle SLI should I need to in the future. would the GTX 760 be a good choice, or would it be better to go with something else?

Hi!

If you have the money and the PSU, I would go for the GTX770. With the recent price drops, the difference between the two is not huge, and you will get more performance out of it.

The GTX760 is fine, even for 1920x1080/1200.

Come April 2014 some (not many) GTX770 buyers will have buyers remorse from getting the card so close to Christmas (worst time to buy PC parts).

My current PC is a notebook, so I can't pull anything out of it, and I plan on using it for mobile travel anyway.

So have yo thought of a build ? If so , what is it ? I could recommend to you some good cheap parts provided you tell me where you live and what your budget is.

Well, the build is a little sketchy at this point. All i know is that I would want to have a setup with a quad-core i5, and I'd like to get a GTX 760, and a mobo that would allow me to SLI it with another 760 in the future. I'd also like to keep the starting PC (without the second 760) under $1000, if possible. I'm fine with an AMD build too if an Intel build is too expensive.
