Hi friends. I need help. My old vga cable failed last night, red things on computer becomes black for unknown reasons so i bought a new one, it worked, color is back to normal but my monitor's native resolution has become 1024x768 instead of 1440x900(im using a HPw1907 lcd monitor) I tried customizing my resolution in nvidia control panel but it was worse. I tried uninstalling my videocard and reinstalling/updating it but it didnt helped. How can i fix this? I hope you guys can help me. Thanks.

Are you actually using a VGA cable, vice a DVI cable? Have you loaded any drivers for the monitor itself?

Go here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=...

Download and install the drivers for your monitor. Along with the updated video drivers you installed earlier, you should be good afterward.

Good luck!
