New desktop computer for Photoshop & Illustrator

I use Photoshop and Illustrator and need to update my laptop which is almost 3 years old (HP Pavilion dv7, Intel i5 m460 2.53 Ghz) It is so slow! I am thinking of moving to a desktop so I can upgrade and I hear it will be faster. I am looking for suggestions for computers that are currently available on bestbuy.com b/c I have $400 of gift cards there. My budget including the gift cards is around $800. (maybe I could go as high as $1000) Can anyone recommend something from this site? (I can always upgrade within the year some parts if necc)

You should build your own computer instead. But before I recommend to you a build , what are the components you don't need? Do you need a monitor ? Mouse and keyboard ?

I have a monitor but i am hoping to get a better one but it doesn't have to be now. I have a mouse and keyboard. I do not do any gaming.
