Hello, i'm planning on getting a new monitor this year (Christmas time) and i want to know if i should wait for G-Sync monitors or buy a 120Hz or 144Hz monitor in christmas.

Solution
personally i think it is not wrong to get current 120/140hz monitor instead of G-Sync monitor. AFAIK the true benefit of G-Sync is when the frame rates are below 60fps because of the dynamic refresh rates low fps can still look quite good. that's why when show the tech publicly for the first time nvidia only use mid range card (GTX760). if your setup can pump out more than 60 fps then using regular 120hz/144hz should be fine.

Even when you are above 60 FPS on a 120hz monitor, v-sync still causes frames to switch between 16ms and 8ms, causing a bit of stuttering. Getting a constant 120 FPS with v-sync on in DirectX games causes 8ms of latency (probably not bad). If the actual frame times vary a bit, the games engine may also get a bit out of sync.

All those things problems go away wit G-sync.

My hope for G-sync is as long as my GPU can produce 30+ frames that game play will be smooth, right now with V-sync on I don't like going below 50fps which means lower settings because the game feels different at that point
