Installed fresh Windows XP on Dell workstation. Downloaded drivers for a specific service tag using another computer onto a USB. Plug the USB into the Dell and can't execute any of the drivers. When I click on the drivers a cmd window blinks really fast but nothing happens.

What is the problem? I downloaded drivers for appropriate Windows version for the Dell computer. There was only one option for drivers filtering: "Windows XP"

Copying the driver executables off USB to the computer didn't fix the problem.

What driver executables look like on Dell: http://i.stack.imgur.com/QZdpZ.png

NOTE:These downloaded drivers are not corrupted. They execute on other computer.

UPDATE: I ran one of the drivers through cmd. The error I get in cmd is: "Program too big to fit in memory"

UPDATE 2: The BIOS is up to date. Downloaded BIOS update utility and it actually ran on XP(it was an .exe like other drivers). In the Utility window it said that the BIOS version is 2.4.0 and I can update it to 2.4.0 which means BIOS is already up to date. No idea why utility still let's you attempt update of already updated BIOS. But overall my BIOS is up to date.

UPDATE 3: Looks like those driver executables use some kind of form of WinZip. I tried to download and install WinZip but it either gives me the "verify this application is meant for Windows"(the latest version 18) or same "Program too big to fit in memory(versions 10 and 11). I have no idea what else to do now. Help.

UPDATE4: Seems like I need to install WinRaR or WinZip or 7zip but I can't because Windows says "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." I downloaded 32-bitand 64-bit 7zip, and yet none would install. What gives? Why is it so stubborn?

Found a trick on some forum. What I did:

1. Download the .EXE driverto other computer
2. Rename the .EXE to .zip
3. Copy over the driver with .zip extension to the Dell
4. Viola. I see the setup.exe application inside that actually installs the driver
