does a blu ray player for pc play pc games to and is it better than a dvd rom or worse and can I get one for under 55 dollars that works thank you in advance P.S I am a heavy gamer

Yes, it will allow you to play games that are on a DVD or CD. I don't think a Bluray drive could be considered better or worse than a DVD-ROM in general, but it will allow you to play Bluray movies on your PC.

You will see no difference, whatsoever, in running/loading games from a BluRay drive, vice a DVD or CD. In fact, you may actually see slightly improved load times as the drive (access times and throughput) is likely faster than many older optical drives.

For playing blu-ray movies, you can try VideoLAN player. I understand people have success playing blu-ray movies using it. Personally, I use PowerDVD9 which was included with my blu-ray drive. I would note the drive you linked is just the OEM drive. There normally is not software included with OEM Hardware.
