Hi all,

I have two questions:

A) for 1080p Gaming and maybe 4k in about 1.5 years Is a 780ti right for me or for the money would the regular 780 gtx be good enough to last me 3 years.

B) Which card would be my best bet? I like the 780 TI Gigabyte 3x OC card with the 3, 80mm fans on it. But as an EVGA Fan (my last 5 vc's are EVGA) The EVGA SC with the ACX Coolers 780ti looks amazing as well...

As for the 780 GTX (Non Ti) Im thinking the EVGA SC ACX cooler addition.

C) Anyone know if the improved the software for a HDMI to my Onkyo Receiver. I could never get it to do 5.1 surround sound. Only 2.1 and it wouldn't utilize the sub-woofer.

Thank you all.

None of these will last you 3 years at ultra or be able to run 4k fine, i would get the 780 or a r9 290x and save the money for an upgrade in 2 years or so

A.) Don't buy a gpu now for 4k in the future. By the time 4k monitors are affordable there will be more powerful/cheaper gpus available. "Good enough" is up to you. If you want to max out all settings (including AA) at 144 fps then a 780TI won't be enough in all games.

B.) EVGA tends to have good customer support and reliability. I guess it depends on the current sales you can find.

C.) Can't help you.

A) Go with the TI if you want to go 4K, you might even need to SLI, depending on the game and quality that is.
B) as for the aftermarket editions, I used the twin frozr for my 780, and its quite and keeps the card cool. the ACX edition of EVGA should do the same.
C) No idea

The next generation 20nm GPU's will be released in early 2014 (nVidia Maxwell). Making the 780 Ti "no prize", ...old, undesirable.

To use one in the future for 4K would suck.
