Greetings from the Netherlands :D

I'm looking to upgrade my current PC, since it is becoming slow and the latest games are not really running so smooth. I have searched for some nice upgrades and I decided that I want to upgrade the motherboard, CPU, graphics card and RAM. My question: can i combine the older parts with the newer ones? My current pc (2009) is a custom setup, but the assemblage has been done by a company.

My current setup (dates from 2009)
MSI P45 Neo2-FIR motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3166MHz
MSI HD R5770 Hawk (Twin Frozr) (875MHz standard)
Kingston DDR2-800 HyperX 4GB (2x2GB)
Western Digital Caviar Black SATA 1TB 7200rpm & 32mb cache (WD1001FALS-00J7B1)
CoolerMaster RealPower M620 (620W, 80plus)
Theatron Agrippa 7.1 (soundcard)

The 'wanted' upgrades
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 motherboard
CPU: Intel i5-3470 "Ivy Bridge" @ 3200MHz
RAM: GeIL DDR3-1600 16GB (4x4GB)
Graphics: MSI R7870-2GD5T/OC

So, these are the new parts that I want to replace for the older ones in the list above. Is that possible? For as far as my computer knowledge goes it IS possible to combine the new 4 parts together, but will they work with the old parts like my hard drive and PSU in particular. Oh yeah, for those of you who want to know my budget: around €650, which is around £540.

Thanks in advance and i'm really looking forward to your responses!

Okay, so it will work in combination with the old PSU (620W) and my hard drive? I'm not sure whether these will work together, especially the PSU. I find it quite difficult to research that on Google. I guess that I need to format the hard drive before using it in the new setup, right?

I'm also unsure whether there are other things that i should take into account when i'm assembling everything in my old midi tower. Like hardware updates and such. It will be the first time assembling these parts and I doubt that it is just a "fasten the components & start the system" story ;).

Okay, clean windows install is not a problem. Takes some time for an 1TB, but we have time... I think that a 700W / 750W should be enough, but i'm not sure. I was hoping to keep this PSU in order to save some money.

Here i am (again), i've bought the Coolermaster M620 in 2008 i believe (yes, it is older than current setup). It is probably all about the constant delivery of watts (something like that) what should be improved by now. If i may ask you, what brand would you recommend. Antec? Corsair? Other?

I'm back again and i've succesfully assembled the mainboard (Z77A-G43), processor (i5-3570), RAM (Kingston HyperX 2x4GB), but i want to come back at you about the thing you mentioned about a PSU. As I said, i have a CoolerMaster Real Power M620 in this new setup, but i'm looking for another GPU. I'm thinking about the MSI R9 270X Gaming, but despite the fact that my system will run on it...does it have enough power on the 12volt rail? According to the box of the PSU:

+12V1 : 19A
+12V2 : 19A
+12V3 : 19A
- 12V : 0.8A
If you ask me that's 57,8A on the 12 volt rail, enough?! I know the thing is old and newer ones are in the market, but will it run without risking the life of the R9 270X? Thanks in advance!
