Hello, Ive installed a GTX 260 into ET1331G-05w Emachine.

Fans turn on, computer boots(beep) and everything works. Only problem, is that it wont display.

I see the fan come on in the video card, and everything, just no display.

What do you suggest I do?

Ive tried, removing/reinstalling video card.
Made sure video power cords are plugged in.
Plugged in another card I had lying around, worked great.

Video card is not NEW, but was lying around for a couple of years, just new to the system I put it in.

Let me know, Thanks

EDIT. The power supply is 460W and what is required is 500W. I was told, that it should run it. Is that 40 watt different that much of a problem?

didn't say what card you plugged in that worked........... bet it was one that was less power hungry...????............... assuming the card is good............... probably not enough power.

If you have a good power supply, a 460 watt should run the 260 just fine. If you have a cheap one, it could be making 300 real watts which may not be enough. Only way to test things it to try the video card in another system that should be able to run it, and to test your system with a similar card in power use.

When you say you checked the video power cords, you mean the video card power cords not the monitor right?

You can also try different outputs on the card, sometimes outputs can go bad but others work fine.

Ah, it is a cheap power supply(Dell). I didnt know it would be that much of a drop.

Thanks

Actually, Dell power supplies are not bad, if it's a 460 I'm guessing it came from an XPS tower correct? Those are not bad at all.
It still MAY be a power supply issue, but aside from that, could be a bad card. You can also try updating the BIOS in the system. And check the PCIe revision on the motherboard, some cards do not like to work in the 1.0 rev if the cards are 2.1 and above.
