So I am in the process of buying the pieces for my first build, and would like opinions and advice. I am intending it to be a mid-range gaming machine. The types of games I typically play are Borderlands 2, Mass Effect, Fallout, Sims 3, etc
Here are the components I have so far:
Motherboard - ga-z68x-ud3h-b3 UPDATE: Thinking of buying an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 instead. I like the idea of an easy to navigate BIOS
Video Card - EVGA 650ti boost SC
PSU - Corsair 600M
Case - BitFenix Shinobi (Windowless)
Fans - 4 120mm fans (can't remember the brand at the moment, but they were relatively cheap)
2TB WD Green HDD
Components I'm planning on getting:
8GB DDR3 Crucial 1600 sport RAM
Intel i5 3570K
64GB or 128GB SSD for Windows 7 boot drive
I have an old dell monitor from my old computer that I will probably end up using. I honestly don't know the specs on it because I got it before I knew anything much about computers, but it has both DVI and VGA connectors.
Any thoughts, opinions, or advice for this noobie?
