Is there anyway to force this router to use OpenDNS over port 5353? I can set the IP address for DNS, but can't find how to set the port. My ISP hijacks any request on port 53, no matter what IP address I enter

That is pretty nasty of them since a lot of people use opendns to make the systems more secure rather than less.

This is not a common feature on a router. It is called destination nat. Cisco commercial IOS based routers it is trivial to do. DD-WRT I am pretty sure you can do it but you will have to go in and mess with the IPTABLES I don't think it can be done from the menu. Not sure if your router supports dd-wrt though.

I am going to bet there is software for a PC that will do it but if you have to do it with the router I am going to bet you will end up having to use dd-wrt or one of the other third party router frimwares.

Thanks for the reply - I was afraid this would be the case. I can deal with the DNS port directly on Windows, but can't make it work on my iPad, which is why I was hoping the router could be set up appropriately. I'm on satellite internet (WildBlue) and they justify the DNS hijack by claiming it allows them to provide better service. In theory this might be true, but they don't seem to be able to run a DNS server to save their lives.

I'm pretty sure the N300 can be flashed to dd-wrt, but I was hoping to avoid that.
