I have 3x 23" 1080p Monitors, the problem comes is if this is even actually possible with my old graphics card that has managed to be the only component that has outlived the rest of the system. The graphics card is a Nvidia 9600GT Palit 512MB, I'm wondering whether if I put it in SLI with another card of the same model would I be able to power my three monitors and be able to use Nvidia surround. I'm going down the route of getting another gpu of that age as I currently do not have the funds to go towards a more modern gpu.

Thanks.

512MB RAM is pretty low for 3x1080p surround gaming. Using a pair of those in SLI won't help you much if games end up wasting the GPUs' time with texture swaps in system RAM... unless you plan to play newer games at something close to lowest detail.

Your better off getting a new single card, the 9600gt is old and simply doesn't have the power for triple monitor at decent settings. Look at the 7950 bare minimum but I would recommend the 280x/7970, GTX 770 and up.

not good enough for 3 1080p displays sorry. you would end up having to run the 3 displays at 800x600 resolution to get 25fps.

I do not have the money to spend currently on one of the latest cards so I need a gpu/gpus that are cheap that "will do" for the time being.

Any suggestions?
