at 1080p on medium settings, you should get about 40-45fps or maybe more

Well, everything looks fine to me, about the bottleneck, don't worry, FX 6300 is just fine paired with 7870.
Just don't cheap out on the PSU, go with Corsair, XFX or SeaSonic.

For a savings of about fifty bucks, just buy a Radeon R9 270. For $180, it performs just as well as the 7870 OC.
