In terms of GPU, I will be putting in a 6770 that I've used for awhile but it's still running strong and obviously I can change if it has any problems. Opinions on how this will run for general day to day use nothing too demanding. I know some of the parts are a bit over kill(8gb ram etc) I just want it to plenty good to use for them for a couple of years.

If you have a better build for £300 or less feel free to suggest.

You have a laptop harddrive selected right now desktop HDs are 3.5" that will make it slower (and usually more expensive per GB) It should function just fine, but if you know you plan to use a video card, build one based on an FX processor and am3+ socket, the APU you have has built in graphics which you don't need.

I was thinking of this. Also Why not get the better Processor and Ram that I have selected? just because they are my parents and a bit older doesn't mean they won't appreciate nice things.

This, my parents that are older have a better build than I do!
